.... I just love you.... everyone...
The work is so amazing here! This last week has seemed like a really long one... because it was extra days till P-day and a lot happened.. haha
-Some awesome new updates.....
I went to the temple and it was so good.. I love the temple and the spirit there :) everyone should go as often as possible..
I had my President Interview which is every other transfer so that was good... He's gonne let me keep being a missionary.. **whew**
... We are working hard...
This last week we had some ups and downs with Burmese families... We had a new family the "kwe" family that was a referral from a nonmember in the asian market.. We had a deal with him that he will get all the Burmese people's addresses and Phone numbers, and we'll teach them. haha He's great..
The Kwe family came to church! (as many as was willing..) They have 5 kids, and they are a young couple... like... mid 30's ... The Daughter who is 8 was really excited about church so we got them a ride (Oh-- Another blessing, is a decent Ward Mission Leader.. oh what a wonderful thing to have someone in the ward that cares.. yes! Great replacement. haha) Namo is the Daughter, she loved primary, even learned the Fathers day song and sang it in priesthood.. with actions. Pamana came to class and tried to leave her 2 year old in nursery, but she kept crying... luckily she isn't the type to leave sacrament meeting to get her child to be quiet... actually she is the type to go ahead and breast feed right in sacrament meeting... --- OK, on that note, you'd think after all the time in my life it wouldn't continue to be uncomfortable when people just start breastfeeding, especially because the Burmese do it ALL the time.. well, It's still uncomfortable. And Elder Jackson is always oblivious.. I love the face when I tell him he's like "THEY WERE?!?" hahahah.... OK- Back to church.. She loved church, and Brother Puloka (WML) came in and met the whole family, talked to the other kids about coming to church... It was fantastic.. And we came over to their house last night, taught them again about Baptism... We're using these Burmese 'Gospel Fundamental' books to communicate, it's tough.. but they understand! They just can't communicate in english. So when we say "Holy Ghost" they just look super confused and think we're talking about haunted houses.. yep.
We asked them about baptism, they talked for several minutes every now and then acting out a question ... something to the effect of "where's a nearby pond?" or "What time?" haha... Oh- one of my favorites was the 10 year old who asked if he would drown... nope, you won't drown.
After all the burmese talking randomosity I asked "How do you feel"... Pamana thought about it and said "I feel alright" well, lately we've gotten answers like "Nothing." so "alright" was a step up haha.. anyhow the son translated for us and said "She feels all is true"... she meant "all right." :) It's a wonderful feeling when the spirit works :)
Well- Long story short, they're getting baptized on July 9th. President is excited, we're excited, and hopefully the entire burmese population is excited.

The Work is going well, I hope you can understand at least a little of this message.. I love you all so much... This is such a true church I can't turn away from it. I can't wait to see you all and tell you about all my adventures!
-Love, Elder Hill...
p.s. My buddy Elder Woodruff's family moved to coos bay.. hahahahahahahahaha

Hey Everybody,
This week was pretty fast.. probably one of the faster ones i've lived... Which is good and bad.. good in the sense that It means we did good work, and bad in the sense that.. it's over, and all the amazing things that happened didn't linger longer. haha Luckily the spirit is always close by..
This week we found a bunch of people and got some amazing help from on high.. we are inches from another burmese family miracle, if we pray and live worthy of it. The Per family is so close! Iang Per is on date for june 26th and her family is slowly praying about what we're teaching them.. It really was a miracle though.. last P-day we went to their house and I prayed so hard that our lesson would go well, it ended up being mostly just Iang (the 17 year old girl) and she felt the spirit so strong, :) amazing.. after our lesson we were so happy.... throughout the week we stopped by 2-3 times for other visits and were able to teach her family... she decided to follow her mothers demand to be baptized in the Chin church on sunday, but still plans to be baptized on the 26th.. legitimately.. The father Mangk, is a serious consideration for Priesthood leadership.. Last wednesday I fasted to be able to find someone to lead the Burmese... we had a lesson with Mangk and met another Burmese guy named Mang both look VERY promising, and Mang speaks English well, as well as Burmese, Chin Hakha, Tedeem, etc.. several others.. He's amazing, really seemed touched when we knelt in prayer with him.. :)
Overall we had some serious miracles, While I was fasting for help in our lessons to have the spirit stronger, the Lord answered that call.. and whispered to have my companion lead the lesson with our investigator Clyde. Clyde is usually a near bible bash lesson.. but this time, we taught him the Plan of Salvation and the spirit was strong. I did my best to let Elder Jackson teach the lesson mostly.. It was seriously an answer to prayer. I love this work!
I've prayed so hard recently for the Burmese families.. If everyone could remember the Burmese and my companion and myself in their prayers, it would help a lot....
The work is going forth boldly nobely and independently... It is such a ride. I love the Lord and I love this work.. Last week we were invited to a meeting with some of the more successful areas in the mission and president and the AP's, talking about being more efficient and putting people on date.. I learned a lot. I'm so thankful for it.
The Lord is my light! I love the great things He has taught me in my time here.. If I can get this Burmese movement started, I might be here for a long time... The Chuukese are taking a slight backseat for a little while (More burmese and closer to the church) .... I love it..
I hope you guys met Brother Dorsett.. he has a box I sent with him.. invite him to dinner! and love their family when they all get down there. K? I love you guys so much.. keep in touch.. can't believe I've been out for almost 6 months! crazy..

Hey e'erybody!

How is everyone doing? I'm doing well, thank you :)

This week was really awesome.. we got a car.. and were way way more
productive some how.. I think transportation does that for me.. haha
it was sad that we didn't get as many crazy homeless guy stories this
week.. never saw 'mr. coolwalk' .. bummer.

Anyhow.. This week was one of great finding. had 9 new investigators
and 1/4 of the zone's total... which is crazy.. for example last
trasnfer we had 11 total..

One of the new families we are teaching is straight out of Iraq. They
have been Christian for many many generations and got out because lets
be real- Iraq isn't a very good place to live, especially for a
Christian. His name is Aziz and he was SUPER SUPER excited to have a
book of mormon (little mini miracle, we found a book of mormon in
Arabic a few weeks ago and I said "I'm gonna place it."... didn't
really think I'd get a chance.. )... IN arabic.. haha Well- that was
on wednesday.. Yesterday he didn't show up for church so we went to
his house to find out why and he had MEGA questions about thebook of
mormon, mostly because he's 70 years old and used to give sermons in
his church, and has NEVER heard of the Book of Mormon before.. he read
about half of it in 2 days.. and had notes and underlines in it. He
was really cought off guard by the 'prophet in 1823' part.. Which
would usually make you sad because he has an issue.. but in this
circumstance, he just said it was "hard for him to believe"... alas
with these foreign people they really are sensative to the spirit.. he
said he would continue to meet and pray about it. :) Life is good. We
have a lesson set up to show him around the church and teach him
about the Apostacy this Wednesday. :)

Another great miracle... was this guy named Eddie, he started talking
to us and asking questions.. said a lot of funny stuff like "Man got
nobody to be afraid of but God, Nobody but God.. ain't nothin that
should scare you except God..." then he paused thinking.. and said
"'Cept you bein' chased by a bear or a lion or something, that's scary
[stuff] right there.. I'm afraid of that as well." haha.. (I edited it
a little.) We got him to talk a little more and gave him a book of
mormon
after sharing several verses from it. it's pretty amazing.. he
promised he would come to church....... someday :( .... wouldn't
commit to ever... haha

Overall it was a great week, we got Alejandro to come to a baptism and
the Spanish Elders witnessed him teaching a couple people about the
restoration on the street.. hahaha already a missionary.. super
cool... and we also had more 'other lessons' than I've ever had
before... it was epic, the work is so amazing..

I really felt blessed this week... I have been thinking about all the
things I wish I hadn't done in the past, and all the time I could have
used more efficiently... but- Alas, Elder Hope taught a great lesson
on repentance.. and I forgive myself.. and I hope everyone forgives me
too :)... it's a commandment afterall.. haha

I love this work, I know it's true. It's so simple... just ask the
Lord and you can know it too :)

ALWAYS SHARE YOUR TESTIMONY! ...

(Will wrote this May 31...I've been slacking)

.... This has been a very stressful yet awesome week....

We'll start from the beginning,

Our challenge this week was to find 'new investigators' who are people
that you teach a lesson to and set up a return appointment...
ANYHOW- Recently with a spike in baptisms our zone has had lows in
lessons... which is acceptable due to the spike in baptisms.. we
finally reached a goal! haha.. which most missionaries haven't in
their mission.. sad stuff. haha

Anyways the goal for the week was to have 25 New Investigators in the
zone. So we worked to find some new ones.. finally having Bob Wright
make an appointment (he's a great dude, kinda fried from hippy life,
but nice.. thought he was mormon, he was RLDS).. and another guy set
up an appointment. .. .. and Clyde who doesn't technically live in our
boundaries but the other missionaries are failures and we don't trust
them to teach him..

So we had contributed and put it on the backburner for a day or two as
we got busy.. The Thang family moved to Kentucky, so we said goodbye
to them.... we have been praying for a good replacement for the Thang
family cause- we're gonna miss them a lot... Well, the Lord heard our
prayers! We met ALL their cousins and we're teaching them.. (That's 7
New investigators) It's going to be really good.. They feel the spirit
really easily and Iang who is a 17 year old girl, seems to be really
committed to coming to church and everything.. (she reaaaaaallly likes
us.... probably more us than the gospel right now, but we can work
with that.. haha) ..

Another great thing we've been trying this week is sharing scriptures
with people while contacting. Being Missionaries or ministers, people
expect us to teach scriptures and say prayers awkwardly in public. So
we do it. Having lessons right on the sidewalk has actually been a
really positive experience. We got another couple investigators for
the spanish Elders this way..

Also- Our only on-date is spanish technically, but he likes us better
than them.. Alejandro is progressing a lot. I think I told you the
story of him.. [so you can enter that in here]

anyways, He's sharing the gospel a lot invited several friends to go
to the spanish branch with him, and has committed to quitting
alcohol.. it made him sick but I "told me something good little
brother"... haha I told him "alcohol WILL kill you and pull you away
from your father in heaven" he's taken it to heart.

It's so amazing the miracles we're seeing here....

As the week went on we ended up having about 8 or so New investigators
and the zone reached our goal.. we also had a great break out week
getting back to our bigger numbers.. and topped 21 lessons for the
first time in 3 weeks.. it's legit.. I love teaching so much!

Transfer calls came last saturday.. and today was transfer day... We
got calls and Elder Jackson and I are staying in Burien!.. we had a
little scare on monday when Elder Graves called and said we needed to
be at transfer meeting.. but then he told us we were getting a car..
:) Burien has never had a car before.. and at transfer meeting we
found out that we are apparently famous around the mission for our
miracle May... it's good to be in the service of the Lord.

I love this work so much.. I can't even tell you how amazing it was to
Baptize Tialmon this last week.. and to Confirm Teray on sunday. The
priesthood is such a huge blessing in our lives. We need these
ordinances to progress!

Everyone should read the book of mormon EVERYDAY.. so do it.. It'll
bless your life so much I can't even tell you.. keep being amazing
everyone.. pray for me and send me your love via mail :)

-Love always, Elder Hilllllllll

p.s. We finally recieved retaliation prank by the spanish elders.....
it was so good.. i can't even tell you.. I'll send pics if you remind
me. :( got owned..
