Hey everybody!

This last week was amazing.. I really can't even explain how much got
done here, I really love this work so much!

Monday- the Thang family was baptized and confirmed, President Larkin
and President Miller participated. It was really special to be able to
confirm Ram the father of the family, he's got a lot of potential, I
pray the church finds him in Kentucky, we're going to call the stake
President and mission president over there to prep them.

This week I was sick a lot.. so it's a miracle we got so much done.. I
was pretty knocked out for several days -- Darn migraines.. wasted
time! aghh!

This letter is going to be a little bit shorter than usual cause I am
running out of time ..

Teray was baptized on saturday, He progressed SO MUCH this week and on
sunday
before stake conference we had a 'recent convert' meeting in
which people got a chance to tell their story and he actually got
choked up when he told them.. all he said was ... "2 days before I ran
into these guys, I prayed.. I prayed i would find your church"... WOW!
So amazing.. The Lord preps, places people everyday in our path. I
can't even tell you how amazing it is to be participating in or really
witnessing this work..

Alejandro is a serious Alcoholic.. it's hard to help him, we're gonna
try being more bold with him.. it's tricky.. but the work is good...
He's technically on-date for June 30th.. I hope he gets there.. I
somehow don't have a whole lot of faith in that date.. We're workin on
it.

.... So much happened.. yet I can't think of any of it. haha Oh well,
I love you guys so much. I'm gonna write some wicked letters back
today.. Thanks so much for all the support! Sorry I didn't write back
last week.. the printer was broken :(

I LOVE YOU SO MUCH! KEEP UP THE PRAYERS!

HOLA FAMILIA!

I can't even tell you sufficiently with the 40 minutes I have left on
the clock..

OK- SO first miracle of the week!

My companion was sick.. and we sat around for 2 days.. and
suffered..--- where's the miracle you ask? I shall tell you... the
miracle is, I got a package from my favorite person ever... so I
survived said 2 day crapfest. :) I also got a lot of studying done
and may or may not have done close to 43 pushups. . . so that's
something right? haha.. OK...

Second Miraculous event!

My Chuukese brotheren Wea was set for baptism on saturday (the 14th)
and we got special permission from the mission president to let him
get baptized even though he slipped on his Word of Wisdom problem...
well-- we met on Wednesday, and he was still clean but.. "i got bad
news" came from him.. I was going to cry if he slipped... but he
didn't.. haha .. however he did get a job on a fishing boat and was
leaving friday morning at 9 AM... SO, Saturday wasn't going to work.
well-- Thursday to the rescue, we planned it and got permission and
baptized him thursday night.... I was lucky enough to give the talk..
It was such a great spirit. Wea has come SUCH A LONG WAY! I love him
like a brother. He was able to get the Holy ghost, and Priesthood
thursday night.. and he shipped out friday morning to fish on the
boat. .. . . . . SO it was amazing.

3rd Miracle!

I went on exchange with the Beverly Park elders just north of us.. I
really needed it. I was getting a little restless with my companion
and needed a bit of a reality check.. Well- the Lord gave me a
break... a break from consistent appointments that I am so very
blessed with in Burien. We tracted and contacted ALL night and ALL
day.. I am very much appreciative of my companion and my area in
general. Great things are happening in Burien. Nothing against Elder
Kasenberg that I was with (except he was canadian.. pfft..) but Elder
Jackson and I suit eachother well.

4th MIRACLE!!!

This is the big one.. probably one of the most amazing things I've
witnessed.. and am continuing to witness...

Friday night after the exchange we had a lesson with the Thang family.
(the Sungs... i found out how they really spell their family name)
Well... we know they are leaving on the 28th. We haven't got a lot of
hope for their progress to move faster.. however-- we had faith that
the Lord could do this thing.. So we had a prayer about it before
heading over.. and when we arrived we were about 10 minutes early so
we decided to have another prayer behind the complex... I've never
expected a miracle like this.. I prayed fervently for the gift of
tongues.. and for their hearts to be touched by the spirit. We began
our lesson, prayed, We asked them.. "do you want to be baptized, have
you prayed to know if you should be?" they just said.. "we havent'
gotten an answer.." (In broken english of course..)... So the spirit
was strong and we felt prompted to pray NOW. So.. I asked if we could
and they agreed.. (They have very interesting cultural prayer
techniques apparently cause.. I said I would say it.. and everyone
just said their own out loud.. until the last one stopped..) haha...
ok.. well we prayed hard.. and asked them again.. "will you be
baptized".. and the father said YES... then.. we asked "how can we
help the rest of you?".. they talked in Chin for a while.. then asked
some random questions.. and eventually they just said "yes, we will
all be baptized, sunday?".. I was shocked.. and we agreed that Monday
would be better.... SO we did the final thing, and explained all the
baptismal questions... we had never talked to them about the Word of
Wisdom
but for whatever reason- they stopped drinking Coffee a month
ago, and for whatever reason they canceled their canadian trip and
came to church.. making them fully qualified to be baptized on monday.
...

It was seriously the most amazing thing I've ever witnessed.. they did
NOT speak english, and I CANNOT speak chin (I tried).. The Lord's hand
was so prevolent in our lesson.. we ended the lesson with 30 minutes
to spare...

Yet another miracle...

I forgot to mention Teray! My favorite swiss/black on-date for
baptism. Last week he came to church after we didn't talk to him ALL
WEEK. He was a totally different person, he took it seriously and our
lessons this last week were amazing. He's growing, and gaining a
testimony.. he even showed up last saturday to clean up the church. He
WILL be baptized this May 21st.. It's amazing, He was so ready..

OH- just one more miracle..

Whilst we were walking out of the Thang Family's house sunday morning,
confirming our interview time, we bumped into a guy named Alejandro.
He was on deadliest Catch last season.. his nickname was alex, or
zorro? he said somebody on the ship died.. I dunno.. anyways.. he met
us and was VERY talkative. He told us a lot of things and how he wants
to "come back to the father" and give up his fishing, get his family
back, dress better, come to church, and be baptized. It was
spectacular.. Just when we think we've seen the miracles, the Lord
pours out just one more..

The Lord loves us SO MUCH! He's giving us every opportunity to be
amazing in this work. I'm so excited for the Thang Family and Wea, and
Teray.. they'll all blossom in the gospel and be a great strength to
whatever ward they are in.. I swear it's ALL true.. I dare everyone to
ask the Lord to show them miracles.. whilst living worthy of them..
They will be there.

.... OK- So some funnier stories..

-We met a lady who looked EXACTLY like Golem from Lord of the Rings..
ok- I'm not kidding.. really creepy.. anyways.. she really didn't like
Joseph Smith and LOVED Brigham Young (usually it's the other way
around..) .. she stopped us and asked us about tons of weird stuff and
then went on a dancing rant about gay people.. randomely yelling
"NARCISSIST! NARCISSIST!" (similar to Golem saying 'GOLEM! GOLEM!")
... it was crazy.. but apparrently we helped her view of mormons.. so
the world is right once again.

... Whilst heading to Beverly Park on exchange, Elder Kasenberg and I
stopped by the apartment, we were talking about Burien's reputation
for crazy people.. right as some guy yelled for us accross the
street.. I could tell he was drugged from far away.. but I wanted to
humor him.. SO we came, and he was trippin out so bad he couldn't even
shake our hands.. it was terrible.. so we walked away.. and about a
block down I turn my head and see him SPRINTING after us so naturally
I calmly say "Elder Kasenberg, don't look now but the acid head is
chasing us." .. he freaked.. haha and the guy just ran up and said
"yall's didn't shake my hand.. hehehehe'" so I did and left.. it was
random.. ALso a crippled guy gave us a ride in the bus van.. that was
weird..

anyways.. the work is well, the blessings are many.. I'm working hard
and loving the gospel. I need the mail though.. so keep writing me.
Thanks so much.. I love you guys SO SO SO MUCH!

<3/ Elder Hill
(Letter from 5/9/11)

This letter might be shorter than a lot of usual.. haha I'm running
out of time and I may have talked to Rachel too much....

Hey family!
Thanks to everyone who sent me letters.. they are golden with..
something delicious on top :) it's the greatest thing ever and I loved
it. so THANKS!

This week was really strange.. and packed with meetings, so we didn't
get to do all the work we wanted to.. but we had some great miracles!

so- my sung family is going to get baptized.. maybe. They finally
understand the priesthood and they came to church again, we'll have to
get permission to baptize them.. but we're going to work really fast
to prepare them.... because--- we found out they are moving on May
28th
... to KENTUCKY.. ack.. that's far.. and quick so we're going to
have to work double time to get them ready.. I really love them it's
sad to see them go. .. the spirit is really teaching them though.. I
love the spirit so much..

It was really great talking to you guys yesterday-- I miss you guys
tons especially the boys.. Asher was so cute on the phone.. haha
anyways..

We had some really strangs situations--- A Less active member.. who
used to be a boy contacted us.. and she/he/it came to church and told
several members of the ward her/his/it's situation... and so they came
to us and were wondering if we were aware-- we assured them we were..
haha Just imagine a linebacker with mrs. doubtfire's face.. ack.. haha
it's wierd.. but God loves this person.. so we're working with them.

haha.. OK- I'm so sorry this is such a short email but I'm really out
of time.. I love you guys so much.. the church is so true.. it's never
been so true in my whole life.. everyday I wake up and it's STILL
TRUE! it's so great.. I love this work, I miss you guys so much
sometimes it's hard.. but the work is fantastic.. ya'll should just
move up here. haha OK- I love you so much..

I just want you all to know that Jesus is the Christ.. There's no
doubt no question that he is our savior and Redeemer.. Every single
day I meet people and testify to them of His divinity.. through the
Book of Mormon we can gain this testimony. The Prophet Joseph Smith
gave us one of the greatest gifts.. he opened the door to such joy and
happiness-- we cannot fathom it. I love this gospel, I love my Lord, I
love my family.. Pleaaase always trust in the Lord, pray always, study
your scriptures.. I know it's easy to be distracted.. But I can't tell
you how much it will bless you.. THIS IS THE SINGLE MOST IMPORTANT
THING THERE IS! .... Keep me in your prayers.. I love you so much.

Tuesday, May 3

Such a week..

OH what a night....
... Well- as I begin to write this email, I have completely forgotten
what we did in the past week :) isn't that interesting!?

well.. some of the ones I remember,

We taught our Bermese Family for an hour and a half on one scripture..
Matthew 7:29... THEY FINALLY UNDERSTAND AUTHORITY! Woot!... it's so
amazing to be able to teach throught the spirit like that. They are
moving along fairly quickly.. by some standards.. haha

We had a wonderful lesson with Boli this week, he's coming along
nicely.. I love that man- he let us tear down his shed with sledge
hammers and axes :).. Yes- I almost got crushed by a falling structure
but I survived. -- ANYWAYS. we showed him the joseph Smith movie.. how
amazing?! he totally felt the spirit and wants to see it again.. along
with all the rest of the movies.. :) Boli is a good guy. if only he
was't a gay. haha

ok-- Teray was the most hectic lesson of my entire life.. I wish I
could even tell you how crazy it was in here but instead I'll put it
on a tape and send it to you through the mail. haha it was hilarious..
let's just say he set up his college classes, cooked lunch, did
laundry, took a nap, went shopping..... Laughed histarically everytime
we said ice cream.. told us about his ghetto neighborhood.. etc.. all
in ONE LESSON... we're amazing I know.

We stole a family from The Hopes.. haha JK, the Wrights were visiting
with the Hopes and cut ties, and we talked it over and decided that
the 'younger' elders were a better fit. SO we visited them.. we are
pretty sure they'll be baptized, we just gotta get into their home and
PREACH THE WORD! The spirit will do the rest.. isn't the gospel
amazing?!

... I really wish I could remember all that happened this week..
ach,,... one day I'll remember to take notes for you guys....
OH- I started using the 'ab wheel'.. it hurts like a...lot. and my abs
still hurt, I don't even think I worked them, they just tore. and I'm
permanently damaged.. so-- dang. no more six pack, only Keg. :) OH!
I'm gaining weight.. I'm upwards of 157.8 pounds around dinner time..
so that's good? keep it up!

OK- I'm super sorry I couldn't think of anything else that happened..
hope this isn't too short.. I love you guys so much, really missi
you... write me :) I love you guys.. I get no mail.. not even my
favorite people..(you know who you are.)
haha nobody.. Oh well, such is my life.

OK- I'll be calling sometime Sunday so be ready all day!

-Elder HIll

p.s. can somebody get me the work and the Glory dvds?... or any of the
church dvds? thanks, Deseret Book is so far away :(
